Meet Mrs. MillerI am a graduate of BYU. I have masters from USU. I have a Gifted and Talented endorsement. I am married and have three great kids. I love teaching!
AR Books (Library Books) I am sure you have noticed or your child has mentioned that they check out an AR book each week. These books are a part of the Accelerated Reading Program Your child takes a comprehension test when they have completed the book. We have set a goal of 10 points by Thanksgiving. The longer and harder books are worth more points than the picture books. You can find the number of points inside the AR books front cover. *Please encourage your child to read their AR book. Our computer lab times are perfect for taking the tests -Tuesdays and Thursdays. We also have computers in our classroom where AR tests can be taken whenever the student's work is comlplete. |
*Students should be reading 30 - 40 minutes or more a day. * Remember to record reading minutes in the planner. |
Reminder:
Each student needs a sturdy three ring binder with two pockets for their planner and to bring Homework from school to home and back. Please check your child's planner. Each day you will be made aware of the expectations for the next day. So on Tuesday the planner explains that the student should wear appropriate PE clothing because Wednesday is our PE day. It is important to help your child get into the habit of following this each day. Please take just a minute and look over the planner and initial if the items have been completed and to ensure your child is prepared for the next day. *Initial planners daily when student's homework is complete. |
